WARRENSVILLE MINISTRIES
Kingdom Kids Ministry – We have a children’s class downstairs during worship service. On the third Wednesday evening of each month children from the community, including children from Warrensville Community Church meet downstairs for a lesson, crafts, games and refreshments. This group is called Kingdom Kids Club.
Movie Ministry – The first Saturday of the month we show a movie in fellowship hall (downstairs) free of charge to the community. There are refreshments (popcorn etc.) for your enjoyment.
Blessing Basket Ministry – This is a ministry open to all individuals at the church. This will run continuously and if you feel led to “bless” someone you can send them a card, bring them a small gift, flower or encouraging note. There will be a basket available to place these items in so that you can remain anonymous. The purpose is to lift others up and be an encouragement to others.
Faith Development Group – This group meets following Sunday service to study different topics or books of the Bible. This group on occasion, with provide a free community meal.
Care Ministry – Through this ministry individuals unable to prepare meals for themselves receive a meal from the church. These individuals normally are those who are sick, recovering from surgery or any other illness that prevents them from preparing their own meal.
Prayer in the Middle – Every Wednesday morning the Pastor leads a prayer group which is open to anyone who wishes to pray and or learn how to better communicate with the Lord as well as enhance their own personal prayer experience.
Backpack Ministry – We partner with Faith UMC to supply non-perishable food items to needy school children who otherwise may not have any food to eat over the weekend.
Bible Study – Normal studies occur Thursday evenings in Fellowship Hall at 6:30pm. The next study is an Advent study which will begin on Thursday November 13. Title of study is “Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus.”
Coffee Ministry – On the third Saturday morning of each month from 8-10am we serve coffee and donuts to anyone desiring a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. These are normally individuals who drive by the church. There are some wonderful conversations and connections that develop. Some have even started coming to church.
Women’s Fellowship – This is a group of women who get together periodically to enjoy fellowshipping together. There are times when a speaker will be present. These meetings don’t necessarily occur at the church.
Hospitality Ministry – This ministry involves a large portion of the people within the church. It involves volunteering for a Sunday to prepare the coffee bar, or greet worshippers as they arrive, or helping serve the Lions Club during one of their meetings (1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings) which meet in the Fellowship Hall .
YouTube Ministry – We record and upload the Sunday morning service to YouTube each week. It is available to watch starting at 12 noon. Those who are homebound, sick or out-of-town appreciate this ministry. This ministry is supported through donations received from those who use this ministry.
Tender Loving Tithe (TLT) – Each month we take 10% of our monthly offerings and donate it to a person or family in need financially.
Visitation Team – This ministry helps the Pastor. If the Pastor is unable to make a visitation, the individuals serving in this ministry will visit the person on the Pastor’s behalf.
YEARLY MINISTRIES
Back to School Event – This ministry is partnered with the Lion’s Club, Eldred Township Fire Hall and several other organizations and is held at the Eldred Township Fire Hall in August. It is the last summer family event before school starts back up. Picture a parking lot with a variety of games and prizes, a bouncy house, dunk tank, French fries and other fair foods. Fire trucks, antique cars etc.
Trunk or Treat – October 31 we fill our parking lot with cars/trucks decorated and filled with candy and other items for children to receive. There is a bonfire to cook smores and or hotdogs, funnel cakes and other refreshments. We average anywhere from 70 to 100 children.
Montoursville Fall Festival – This occurs on the third Friday and Saturday of September at Indian Park in Montoursville. The purpose of our involvement is not just to sell funnel cakes but, more importantly to spread God’s love, show our presence in the community, and share the love of Jesus Christ.
Samaritan’s Purse – This is also known as Shoe Box Ministry. It is a fall ministry where shoeboxes are filled with recommended items for children abroad who if they didn’t receive a box, would not have any Christmas at all.
